"Successfully combating global warming requires a national transition to renewable energy sources. Solar energy can play a large part of the solution?analysis demonstrates that with proper leadership, solar PV can generate 80% of the country?s total residential electricity demand by 2020. That?s the equivalent of more than 500 moderately sized power plants, reducing CO2 emissions by 620 million tons per year, the equivalent of removing 124 million cars from the road.

While solar energy is currently the fastest growing energy source in the world, we have only scratched the surface of solar?s potential. The best way to bring down costs is through demand-driven economies of scale. Vote Solar is working on implementing the key policies necessary to develop state solar markets, bring down costs, and bring solar energy into the mainstream.
