About Rainforest Action Network

Leadership

Michael Brune

Executive Director

Michael Brune is the executive director for Rainforest Action Network (RAN). He oversees, coordinates, and provides strategic direction for the organization's programs. Previously, Brune served as the director of RAN's Old Growth Campaign, leading the effort to push Home Depot to adopt its landmark wood purchasing policy - a triumph which prompted more than one-third of the home improvement industry to follow suit. Brune currently directs strategy for RAN's programs, including the organization's campaigns to wake up logging giant Weyerhaeuser and to reduce the ecological and social footprint of the financial services industry. Brune also is a force in shaping RAN's Freedom from Oil Campaign, which was designed to help break America's oil addiction.

Branden Barber

Development Director

Branden started with Greenpeace Marine Division 15 years ago and then ran a GP office in Australia for a few years before making the jump to web development and online communications strategy for business. Having been with a world class design studio, Studio Archetype, as a Creative Integrator and then a Director of Creative Delivery for Sapient (sapient.com) in Sydney, Australia, Branden then helped found Different Solutions (different.com.au) and then his own creative agency, Twin Lizards. Now with a solid business background and passion for protecting our environment, Branden is part of RAN's leadership team and passionate about connecting philanthropy with the organization's mission.

Organization’s Objective

Rainforest Action Network is working to break America’s oil addiction, reduce our reliance on coal, protect endangered forests and indigenous rights, and stop destructive investments around the world.
